4 Salesforce Developer Google Chrome Extensions You NEED!

Sometimes we get started with our coding day, we are fired up and on a roll aaaaand…  can’t remember a password or can’t remember the name of a field and it bogs us down and we lose momentum. Ever felt that way? I have.

I forget my own passwords all the time, much less customer logins or all the names of fields that I’ll need to be working with and so much more. Wouldn’t it be nice if there were some tools that could help us with this!

Well I’m glad you asked, because there are! Google Chrome has several extensions that will help you in your Salesforce Developer journey and I’d love to share with you some of the top tools I use:

Google Chrome Exensions

Force.com Logins: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/forcecom-logins/ldjbglicecgnpkpdhpbogkednmmbebec

This is a tool that helps you to manage Salesforce login credentials and lets you login with 1 click. Whether you are an admin or developer who needs to manage multiple orgs and login credentials, this helps you move from one account to another, sync your login information across devices and automatically takes backup of your account information to your Google Drive.

Cost: Free for 10 login accounts ($2.99 / year for unlimited)

Salesforce Logins by Synebo: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/salesforce-logins-by-syne/mhpbcjokcjoldhjcapkcmfkkkgepapgm

Productivity boosting: Supports security tokens. Say "good bye" to verification codes! Grouping, quick search and one-click login to a new tab, window or even incognito mode. Teamwork ready: Easily import and export your credentials, copy login information to clipboard in a single click or generate session login link. Security: The stored data will be automatically synced to any Chrome browser that the user is logged into, which is provided in case if the user has enabled synchronization. Your sensitive data like password or token is protected. We store them encrypted. Also, you can use PIN code protection in feature for more security

Cost: Free forever

Salesforce Inspector: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/salesforce-inspector/aodjmnfhjibkcdimpodiifdjnnncaafh

This is probably my FAVORITE tool. I use this just about every day. The Salesforce Inspector helps me Salesforce administrators and developers to inspect data and metadata directly from the Salesforce UI. This extension adds a metadata layout on top of the standard Salesforce UI to improve the productivity and joy of Salesforce configuration, development and integration work.

Cost: Free

Salesforce Colored Favicons: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/salesforce-colored-favico/peohlnebahcddpmfaplmilpkgbkkcdho

Have you ever thought you were working in sandbox only to find you were actually in production! That is a heart stopper. Well, this extension updates the standard favicon color and groups your sandbox and production orgs together, so no matter how many tabs you have open, it will show them in different colors to help you know whether you are working in sandbox or production!

Cost: Free

There are lots of others, but these are the extensions I use regularly and definitely help me keep my sanity!

Which ones do you use? Did I miss any amazing Google Chrome extensions? I’d love to hear from you in the comments below.
